This is about 6-6-6 the date that marks my ascendancy into the world of power and glory.
I may not have mentioned it to you but I am the antiChrist.
To them that believe (like the motor mechanic, the lab technician and the sign board painter - a.k.a. the Unholy Trinity) no explanations were ever necessary.
To those that do not believe No proof (not even my profile photograph with the stylised mark of the "Evil One") would ever be enough.
To this misguided bunch I have only one thing to say -
BE AFRAID!!!
BE VERY AFRAID!!!
Anyway went to see Omen yesterday. Bad idea. Could not help but continously make a comparrison to the original.
With all the new age technology and techniques they still could not make as scary and grippping a movie as the First one.
A part of this could of course be put down to the fact that when I saw the original I was just about 18, another aspect could perhaps be put down to the fact that there was this annoying bunch of kids at IMAX yesterday who had this habit of bursting out into laughter at the "scary moments" (not an inapropriate response, I might add).
But the fact however remaains that the original little kid starinng into you was far more menacing that the new kid on the block.
This whole week is in fact turning out into becoming a huge (and actually quite satisfying - I love thrashy movies OK) movie binge. Started with Inside man on Sunday, Omen yesterday and MI 3 today.
Mr Washington excelled in Inside Man though I still have one question about the movie which I am still unable to answer. No its not about the plot It is actually about what the F the Chainyaa Chainya number was doing in it?
MI 3 tonight. I hope it does not go down the Bollywood Masala route that MI 2 did (the heroine standing at the cliff edge threathening to commit suicide and being rescued in the nick of time by the Hero - talk about un-original ideas!!). Seeing the trailer yesterday I did however notice that Tom is now begining to look really old.
Saw another trailer yesterday. K.A.N.K. (remember you saw this phrase here FIRST). The Karan Johar melodrama coming in August. With all this talk about the simmering fued between the Khans and my in-laws I wonder if Karan will favour his lover boy over mine.
One huge plus about the movie binge is that I don't need to watch Rahul Mahajan 24 x 7. Give the guy a break will you!
More and more I see this as just more proof of how kids of famous parents always end up getting a raw deal in life. They are always held up to a higher standard that most of their peers.
"The Curse of the Silver Spoon."
Now there's a story waiting to be told.
