In the Battle of Who will win the sweepstakes in Bollywood this Diwali I have it on good authority that the winner is Jaan-e-man.
The Don can go into his little corner and do his usual stuff.
The nephew has come down for his holidays again and given the choice of which movie he wanted to see The Salman Akshay starer was a hands down favourite.
When asked why he had no desire to see The Sharukh magnum opus I was given a clear idea of how the stars rate with their fans. "Sharukh toh as usual roose picture ma".
From the mouth of babes as they say...
I'm not sure if this is a coincidence but once more with the nephew staying with me I am getting those marginally jittery signals from the market. So once more I have taken sit back and relax positions for the next few days and am spending time with him.
Against strident opinions (from my "Friends" - that is what reallllly hurts) that insist that this is just another excuse for me to be lazy, I still do not feel that I am getting any major positive signals to get in right now.
While they may be a few stray stock specific movers, I am sure that next week (maybe) we will have a far clearer signal as to where this market is headed.
Missed the non-Himesh GB party over the weekend. I just hope that it was well attended enough for the Journo-Activist (I love that term for him) to have again. Hopefully they will do something along these lines for New Years eve as well.
Driving down to Pune on Friday evening was perhaps the worst expressway experience I have ever had in my life. Half or more of the city seems to have chosen that precise time to leave the city as well. As a result, a trip that normally takes me a little over two hours took close to four. It took me nearly 30 minutes at the Vashi Toll Naka.
Which makes me wonder - once they shift the Booth to the edge of the Bridge how are they going to cope with such a rush situation. Can you imagine traffic stalled from one end of the Bridge to the other. Not a pleasant thought and somehow I get the feeling a thought that has completely slipped the minds of the bureaucrats that decided this new Booth location.
Driving down University Road in Pune was sheer nostalgia. Suddenly all those years of driving down Mohamed Ali Road while the flyover was being built can sharply to mind. The chaos, the road rage, the frustrations,mmmm.... I'm luvin it!
Was listening to the sis and some of her other Bombay friends crib about the coming "Wedding Season". Already they were talking about how they were tired as hell of all these functions. It's times like these that make me glad that I have lived so many years of my life as a non-resident (aka anti-social) colonyite.
My simple rule in life is "The less Baawaas you know the better off you are".
